Mental Health Community Services

Community Mental Health Teams

Community Mental Health refers to a system of care in which the main provider of specialist mental health services is within a person's community, not in a specific facility such as a hospital. We aim to treat and support people in their own homes and community as much as possible and rely on hospital care as little as possible.

This section of the site describes the different services we deliver in your home or in our community facilities. From the options below, you can read about the healthcare workers you will meet, the services we provide, and the therapies and group programmes our teams offer. You can visit our Local Teams pages to see what is offered in your area.

Services

Group Programmes

Group Programmes often involve regular meetings/classes/activities, held once a week for a set period, in a group setting with people in a similar situation. They deal with particular problems that a group have in common such as difficulties with anxiety, difficulties socialising or relapse prevention. These tend to be specific to your local area, see your local team for more details
